MUSIC ARTIST PREPARATION

When booking a session as a music artist, your preparation takes on extra creative layers—your visuals become extensions of your sound, your brand, and your narrative. Below is what you can do to show up confident, inspired, and ready to make magic together.

Pre-Session Checklist

  1. Mood & reference materials
Bring lyrics, playlists, album artwork, visual inspirations, or any imagery that captures your sonic identity. This helps us align your visuals to your vibe.

  2. Wardrobe & styling

    • Plan 2–4 looks that reflect your musical persona (bold, moody, raw, glam, etc.).

    • Consider textures, layers, and accessories that create visual depth under stage or studio lighting.

    • Steam or press garments in advance; carry them in garment bags to avoid wrinkles.

  3. Hair, makeup & grooming

    • If you’re doing your own hair/makeup, please come clean-faced, moisturized, and ready for touch-ups.

    • If you booked styling or makeup with us, washing and drying hair beforehand is best.

    • Groom facial hair, nails, edges—details show.

    • Bring essentials for touch-ups (blotting powder, lip balm, hairspray, etc.).

  4. Energy & mindset

    • Rest well the night before.

    • Hydrate—your skin, eyes, and energy will thank you.

    • Come with a mindset to collaborate. We’ll guide lighting, posing, and emotion—but your authenticity is the anchor.

    • Don’t forget to bring water, snacks, and any quiet time you need beforehand.

  5. Props, gear & extras

    • If there are instruments, mics, vinyls, or other meaningful props, bring them.

    • If you have stage or performance wardrobe (jackets, jewelry, boots), include those options.

    • Bring your playlist or backing tracks (if using for set or live shots).

    • If you have vision boards or images you love, bring printed/digital copies for reference.

What to Expect On Set

  • We’ll start with a quick creative recap—your sound, your goals, and what you want each look to say.

  • We’ll walk through your looks together, making sure everything fits, flatters, and matches the lighting direction.

  • We’ll shoot in a flow that balances polished portraits, character shots, performance energy, and candid moments.

  • I’ll guide you into poses, expressions, and transitions that feel natural and musical—energy in motion.

  • Unexpected moments are welcome. If inspiration strikes mid-shoot, we’ll pivot, experiment, and lean into what’s real.
